India e-Arrival Card for Canadian Citizens
Canadian citizens travelling to India must complete the India e-Arrival Card before reaching immigration. This includes Canadian passport holders with an OCI or eOCI card.

Do Canadian passport holders need an India e-Arrival Card?
Yes. Canadian citizens are included in the requirement for foreign nationals arriving in India.
The Government of Canada’s India travel advice confirms that travellers must complete the e-Arrival Card online within the permitted arrival window.
Your arrival card records information about your visit. Your passport, Indian visa or OCI travel documentation remains separate.
When does the submission window open in Canada?
Calculate the window using your scheduled arrival time in India, then convert the opening time to your Canadian location.
For example, if you arrive in India on Sunday at 8 am Indian Standard Time, the 72-hour window begins on Thursday at 8 am Indian Standard Time.
That opening time falls on Wednesday evening or Thursday morning in these Canadian locations:

Use the time zone in effect on the submission date. These are examples for the stated itinerary; calculate your own window using your actual arrival time.
Vancouver’s clock rules changed in 2026. It now uses UTC−7 year-round, so older winter calculations using UTC−8 are unsuitable. Other Canadian locations may follow different clock arrangements.

Which passport and nationality should I enter?
Use the passport you will travel on.
For a Canadian passport:
Select Canada as your nationality.
Enter your name exactly as shown on your passport.
Check your current passport number character by character.
If you renewed your passport, use the current travel passport’s details.
Canadian residence and Canadian citizenship are different. If you live in Canada but travel on another country’s passport, enter the nationality matching that passport.
Do Canadian citizens with OCI cards need to complete it?
Yes. OCI and eOCI cardholders must also submit their arrival information.
Enter your current foreign passport number in the passport field. Your OCI card number is a separate identifier.
Completing an e-Arrival Card does not renew your OCI documentation or update your OCI passport records.
Prepare your address and contact details
Have your accommodation address in India ready, including the correct Indian state and district. Check those details against your hotel booking or your host’s address.
For a Canadian telephone number, select the appropriate +1 country code and check the completed number carefully.
Use an email address you can access before and during your trip.

What is the cost?
Our service fee is £15 GBP per traveller, charged in British pounds. If your card account uses Canadian dollars, check the currency conversion and any applicable fees with your card provider.
We review your information, check for missing details and common mistakes, contact you if clarification is needed, assist with submission and email your confirmation once completed.
