India e-Arrival Card for US Citizens

US citizens traveling to India must complete the India e-Arrival Card before reaching immigration. This includes US passport holders with an OCI or eOCI card.

Complete the government submission within 72 hours before your scheduled arrival in India.

Our independent service costs £15 GBP per traveler and includes information checking, submission assistance and confirmation by email.

Do US passport holders need an India e-Arrival Card?

Yes. US citizens are included in the requirement for foreign nationals arriving in India.

Your e-Arrival Card records arrival information. You still need the appropriate Indian visa or valid OCI documentation for your journey.

Having an Indian visa or OCI card does not replace the arrival-card submission.

When does the 72-hour window open in US time?

Start with the scheduled arrival time in India, then count back 72 hours.

For example, if you arrive on Friday at 6 pm Indian Standard Time, the submission window begins on Tuesday at 6 pm Indian Standard Time.

For that example, the equivalent opening times are:

US time zoneDuring standard timeDuring daylight saving time
EasternTuesday, 7:30 am ESTTuesday, 8:30 am EDT
CentralTuesday, 6:30 am CSTTuesday, 7:30 am CDT
MountainTuesday, 5:30 am MSTTuesday, 6:30 am MDT
PacificTuesday, 4:30 am PSTTuesday, 5:30 am PDT

These times apply to this example. Calculate your own window using your actual arrival itinerary and the local time zone in effect on the submission date.

Most of Arizona stays on Mountain Standard Time throughout the year. Hawaii does not observe daylight saving time. Travelers in other US time zones should convert their arrival window accordingly.

You can provide your details to our assistance service earlier. We begin reviewing them after payment and complete government submission within the permitted window.

Use the date you arrive in India. Overnight flights and connections can mean this differs from your US departure date.

Which passport and nationality should I use?

Enter the details of the passport you will use for your journey.

For a US passport, select the United States nationality option and enter your name and passport number exactly as shown in the passport.

If you recently renewed your passport, check that you are using the current number.

Living in the United States does not mean you should select US nationality. If you travel on another country’s passport, use the nationality matching that passport.

Do US citizens with OCI cards need to complete it?

Yes. OCI and eOCI cardholders are included in the arrival-card requirement.

Enter your current US passport number in the passport field. Your OCI card number is a separate identifier.

Completing an e-Arrival Card does not update your OCI passport records or renew your OCI documentation.

Read our India e-Arrival Card for OCI Holders guide.

What information should I prepare?

Have your passport, itinerary and accommodation details nearby.

You will need your passport information, purpose of visit, arrival date, countries visited in the last six days, address in India and contact details.

Where the form requests your address, state and district in India, enter your Indian accommodation details.

For a US telephone number, select the appropriate +1 country code and check the completed number. Provide an email address you can access before and during your trip.

See our full requirements checklist.

What does the service cost?

The service fee is £15 GBP per traveler, charged in British pounds. If your card account uses US dollars, check the currency conversion and any applicable fees with your card provider.

Our service includes reviewing your information, checking for missing details and common mistakes, assisting with submission and emailing your confirmation once completed.

Through our service, complete a separate application for each traveler, including children traveling on foreign passports. Families can use the same contact email address.

Ready to prepare your arrival information?

Check your passport number, arrival date and contact email before submitting.

For separate entry and travel requirements, review the US Department of State’s India travel information and current Indian government guidance.
