India e-Arrival Card for UK Travellers
Travelling to India on a British passport? You must complete the India e-Arrival Card before reaching immigration, including if you hold an OCI card. Submit your arrival information within 72 hours before your scheduled arrival in India.

Do British citizens need an India e-Arrival Card?
Yes. British passport holders fall within the requirement for foreign nationals arriving in India.
The e-Arrival Card records arrival information. It does not replace your Indian visa or OCI documentation.

Living in the UK does not determine your nationality. Complete the form using the passport you will travel on.
When should I submit it before flying from the UK?
Calculate the 72-hour window using your scheduled arrival in India.
For example, if you arrive on Friday at 10 am Indian time, the submission window begins on Tuesday at 10 am Indian time.
That Tuesday opening time is:

Check which UK time applies on the submission date. Using Indian local time throughout your calculation helps avoid confusion around clock changes.

Check your arrival date on overnight and connecting flights
An overnight flight can leave the UK on one date and reach India the following day.
If your flight leaves the UK on Wednesday and arrives in India on Thursday, enter Thursday as your arrival date.
For connecting journeys, check the arrival details for the flight entering India. Keep your current itinerary nearby when completing the form, and contact us promptly if your travel plans change after ordering.
Which nationality and passport details should I enter?
Use your name and passport number exactly as shown on your current travel passport.
Select the nationality or passport category matching that passport. Do not select British nationality simply because you live in the UK.
For OCI holders, enter your foreign passport number in the passport field. Your OCI card number is a separate identifier.

What information should UK travellers prepare?
Have the following ready:
Your passport name, nationality and passport number.
Your purpose of visit.
Your scheduled arrival date in India.
Countries visited in the last six days.
Your accommodation address in India, including state and district.
An accessible email address and contact telephone number.
Enter your accommodation address in India where the form requests your Indian address. Check it against your hotel booking or your host’s details.
For a UK telephone number, select the appropriate +44 country code and check the completed number carefully.

Check each traveller’s details against their own passport.
Through our assistance service, complete a separate application for each traveller, including children travelling on foreign passports. The fee is £15 per person.
