India e-Arrival Card for OCI Holders

Yes—OCI and e-OCI cardholders travelling to India must complete an India e-Arrival Card. Submit it within 72 hours before your scheduled arrival in India.

The official government form is free. If you would like help reviewing and submitting your details, our independent assistance service costs £15 per traveller.

Do OCI holders need an India e-Arrival Card?

Yes. The official OCI portal confirms that OCI cardholders are included in the e-Arrival Card requirement.

An OCI cardholder is a foreign national travelling on a foreign passport. Indian origin and OCI status do not provide an exemption from this arrival form.

Your OCI documentation and e-Arrival Card serve different purposes. The arrival form records information about your visit; it does not renew your OCI card or replace your travel documents.

When should OCI holders complete the e-Arrival Card?

Complete the government submission within the 72 hours before you arrive in India.

Use your scheduled arrival time in India when calculating the window. An overnight flight can mean your departure date and arrival date are different.

Example: If your scheduled arrival is Friday at 10 am Indian time, the 72-hour window begins on Tuesday at 10 am Indian time.

You can provide your details to our assistance service earlier. We begin reviewing them after payment and complete submission once your arrival falls within the permitted window.

Which passport and nationality details should I use?

Use the details of the current foreign passport you will travel on.

Form detailWhat to enter
Full nameYour name as shown on your current passport
Passport numberYour current passport number—not your OCI card number
NationalityThe nationality of the passport you are travelling on
Arrival dateThe date you are scheduled to arrive in India
Address in India

Your accommodation address, with the correct state and district

For example, an OCI holder travelling on a British passport should enter British nationality. OCI describes your status; it is not a passport nationality.

Also have your contact details, purpose of visit and information about countries visited in the last six days ready.

Checks to make before submitting

Check your details against your passport and travel booking:

  • Passport number: use the passport you will travel with, especially if you recently renewed it.

  • Nationality: use your current passport nationality.

  • Arrival date: check when you land in India, including overnight flights.

  • Accommodation: make sure the address, state and district match.

  • Email: enter an address you can access before travelling.

If you notice an error after providing your details to us, email [email protected] promptly.

Does the e-Arrival Card update my OCI passport details?

No. Completing an e-Arrival Card does not update the passport details recorded against your OCI.

If you have renewed your passport, check the applicable OCI passport update or reissue requirements separately through the official OCI portal.

Can I complete applications for my family?

Yes. Through our assistance service, complete a separate application for each traveller using that person’s passport and travel details.

A parent or guardian can provide a child’s information. Our assistance fee is £15 per traveller.

What should I keep after submission?

Keep your e-Arrival Card confirmation accessible with your travel documents.

Our service emails your confirmation once submission is completed. Check your inbox and spam folder, and contact us if you need an update.
